Chairperson & Non-Executive Director
Ian Maynard is currently a Director of Queensland University of Technology Business School Advisory Board, chair of Australian Christian Churches Directorate, non-executive chair of DPN Casa Capace disability housing provider and co-founder of Cyberturity and Cybermetrix. Ian consults as a business and executive coach, specialising in leadership and organisational development. As a non-executive director of 14 organisations over the last 20 years, Ian is able to advise on company and organisation structure, coaching and mentoring business owners in the areas of leadership, process improvement, enabling technology and customer engagement.
Treasurer & Non-Executive Director
Jacob Edwards is a career banker. He is Bank Australia’s Commercial Lending Manager, a profit for purpose customer owned responsible bank. He leads the Bank’s impact lending operations and has developed Bank Australia’s product innovations in SDA with an accent on choice and control. Bank Australia was the first Bank to lend for SDA and has established loans nationally for Participants, parents and families and SDA providers. Jacob is passionate about his work that leads to positive social change and is very proud to represent SDAA.
Corine is Acting CEO for Common Equity NSW - Co-operative Housing, a Community Housing provider. Corine has been with Common Equity for 5 years and has over 20 years’ experience in Business Process and Quality Management Systems roles in the Government, Private and Not for Profit sectors. With 14 years of leadership, training and project management experience as a commissioned officer in the Royal Australian Navy, followed by a variety of roles in health insurance, disability services and property management, Corine is passionate about utilising learnings from these diverse perspectives to promote the benefits of the co-operative housing model as a solution to housing affordability and accessibility.
Owen is the Managing Director of Illowra Projects, who develop customised disability accommodation using a person-centred design approach. Owen has studied accessible building design and through extensive work in development and construction in Australia and overseas has developed a passion for bringing to life smarter building design with a focus on improved accessibility to increase independence for residents with a disability. Illowra Projects work where possible to help residents and families own their own homes.
Philippe is a founding partner of Madigan Capital, a non-bank lender representing institutional investors, and has been in the financial services and funds management industry for 15 years. Madigan’s investment focus is in real estate and social infrastructure projects, including SDA and broader social & affordable housing. Prior to Madigan, Philippe has worked in structured finance, funds management and principal finance / private equity roles in Australia and the USA. Philippe has a broad range of experience in real estate development financing, non-bank lending, mergers & acquisitions, technology and transport assets. Philippe is passionate about achieving social outcomes through private investment.
General Manager - Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) Alliance
From the inception of the NDIS, Mel has supported development of knowledge of Specialist Disability Accommodation and other NDIS housing supports through roles in a large faith-based NGO, Community Housing peak body, Summer Foundation, and most recently through the establishment of a successful private consulting firm (NDIS Housing Cross-Sector Solutions). Mel is thrilled to be involved in founding the Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) Alliance as the General Manager, enthusiastic about the future for SDA, and looking forward to collaborating with you.
